As a Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading the quality and continuous improvement efforts with ceramic components for aerospace / defense customers
  • Implementing all elements of quality systems which will include:
    • Internal audits
    • Incoming Quality Check (IQC)
    • Lean Six Sigma
    • Supplier development
    • Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
    • Root Cause analysis
  • Determining product acceptance per customer technical data package requirements
  • Supporting the production group in assuring shipment targets are met by efficient processing of quality documentation and product evaluation
  • Willingness to be on-call when the production group, engineering group and/or the customer requires support

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Two (2) years of manufacturing/production experience in an engineering role (private, public, government or military)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Ceramic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • defense / aerospace industry
    • Aerospace Standards (AS9100)
    • ceramic processing
    • precision grinding
    • Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM)
    • International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14000
  • Previous experience in a direct manufacturing production and/or production support role
  • Proficiency in basic statistical analysis
  • Ability to conduct visual inspection
  • Proficiency in report writing

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
