The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Senior Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading and executing high priority projects to improve the  Command™ lean value stream and consolidate manufacturing capabilities.
  • Implement programs to improve quality, reduce cost, and expand offerings in the Command™ product line.
  • Implement and oversee change management driven by product /quality improvements, supply changes, regulatory requirements and cost reduction.
  • Leverage and collaborate with cross functional teams including division engineering, division manufacturing and quality.
  • Verify and document product specifications for new and existing products.
  • Conduct product claims testing and document test results via claim substantiation process.
  • Interact closely with key internal and external manufacturers and suppliers to deliver high-quality retail products.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) combined years of manufacturing and/or laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Three (3) years of leading and contributing to cross-functional teams in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding in tape and/or adhesive manufacturing.
  • Experience with injection molding and hardgoods.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute product verification/claim substantiation test plans
  • Ability to develop & validate test methods and properly document test results
  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in design of experiments and other statistical methods
  • Strong communication, organizational, project management and problem-solving skill

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic
