Security Operations Engineer

The Role

  • Be the SME for security engineering capability for the 24x7 SecOps team

  • Design, build and deliver new security capability in the cloud to improve the overall security posture of ASOS

  • Drive and improve automation across SecOps to enhance efficiencies and reduce alert fatigue for the 24x7 analysts

  • Day to day management of SecOps systems, operational governance, vulnerability management and security tooling

  • Build and maintain effective and meaningful relationships with external partners

  • Maintain and follow current best practices when deploying new security solutions across ASOS

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of Azure/cloud environments with proven experience deploying and maintaining security solutions for an operational team

  • Strong experience working with an in-house 24x7 SecOps team – improving their security knowledge and awareness. Walking through newly deployed security solutions and how to bring them into operational activities

  • Hands-on experience leading and securing cloud environments, following and executing on strategic direction

  • Strong experience reading and consuming security operational alerts and logs (3rd Party and cloud native) as well as programming / scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, PowerApps, KQL), to automate tasks, to enable security at speed and scale

  • Be able to build good working relationships with both technical and business stakeholders across the business within a matrix organisation

  • Experience of working in a large company and/or enterprise environment – understanding the complicity of multiple stakeholders and how to effectively manage change

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
