Purpose of Role
Working as part of Babylon’s Data Tribe, you will join us to build a dynamic data platform, to help Babylon grow its capabilities in offering the most comprehensive view of consumer and population health. You will work as part of an end-to-end feature squad, which is working to build the large scale, high volume, high performance platform which provides insights to internal and external customers. It is these insights that will enable consumers to live smarter, and health care providers and payers to move from reactive sick-care to proactive optimisation of individual and population health. We are looking for Data Engineers who want to add immense value to the business and help us tell the Babylon story. 

Key Responsibilities
Build robust production grade ETL pipelines and data models
Build and maintain the next generation of reporting and analytical solutions
Perform data modelling to streamline data by combining data from multiple sources
Use of relational, NoSQL, file system and graph databases for work
Work on Greenfield projects
Drive continuous improvements
Provide support and insights to data science and machine learning squads
Share you experience of data access practices and design patterns
Ensure coding standards are in place. 

Skills Required 

Experience in a data engineering role and with large-scale data environments
Proven experience of working with GCP, Google BigQuery, Hadoop and other SQL and NoSQL databases and are eager to learn even more
High ability to code in one flavour of Python or another
Demonstrate experience of using Docker for deployments in a micro-service architecture
Knowledge of at least one of the following: PowerBI, Tableau, Qlikview or similar  

Ability to write unit, integration and behavioural tests
You have a pet named Protobuff

Qualifications and Experience
BA AND/OR MSc Degree in Computer Science or similar field OR substantial experience in developing robust, scalable and production grade data pipelines and models
