What do we want?

Data is core to the future of Babylon. Our core product relies on AI to make clinical decisions and many teams rely on the quality of the data to make decisions and build the future of Babylon. We are looking for an engineer with a passion for data and the emerging field of data operations.
As a DataOps Engineer, you will work closely with a number of teams (AI, BI, Research and Clinicians) to give Babylon a stable platform on which systems can be developed at pace and quality.

We are developing new services and applications every week, and launch across different geographies every month, it brings its fair share of challenges and we believe cutting edge engineering is the only way to achieve that.

Whats a typical week like?

    • Work with the infrastructure platform team. They will build the systems that you will use and will require your help on data specialist subjects.
    • Design data flows that allow quality data across all environments
    • Speak at conferences and exchange with other companies also operating in that space
    • Contribute to our growing social presence by writing blog posts and other activities
    • Ensure our data operations is compliant with the regulations of the territories we’re entering
    • Participate in the effort to keep this ever changing and growing system maintainable and fit for operation - Automate everything!
    • Be on call to maintain the products you have built.
    • Participate into Kaizen days where you investigate new technologies.

Who fits the role?

    • Strong level in Python or any other language
    • Passionate in building tools and automation to improve engineering solutions
    • Honest team player. We have worked hard to build a great culture and we are looking for people that want to be part of that
    • Focused on delivery with a passion for quality and innovation
    • Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (particularly AWS)
    • Design and operation of robust distributed systems
    • Working knowledge of RDBMs and NoSQL datastores

What's nice to have?

    • Previous experience with Kafka or other data streaming technologies
    • Experience of working in a fast paced startup environment
    • Monitoring solutions experience (ELK, NewRelic, …)
    • Solid understanding of database technologies
