The Role

As we scale, empowering our development teams is key. Developers rely on self-service use of our clusters and information, without compromising on the security required for healthcare data. We are looking for an Engineer who wants infrastructure and operation to become more transparent, efficient and secure.

As an Observability Engineer, you will work with all the engineering teams to understand what data is relevant to them, and what tooling we can deploy so that everyone can make more informed decisions, faster.

We are developing new services and applications every week, and launch across different geographies every month, and this brings its fair share of challenges. We believe cutting edge engineering is the only way to achieve that.

Whats a typical week like?

    • Collaborate with the entire Platform Engineering team, working alongside our Kubernetes and Cloud Engineering experts. They’ll bring their expertise in certain tools and you’ll bring your focus on data and making our work observable.
    • Building Observability that serves actions - quality over quantity! We have no interest in the number of dashboards you produce, solely on the value that comes from distributing data within the company.
    • Experiment with the latest cloud native technologies within our clusters
    • Ensure our observability effort is coherent across the platform and the world
    • Participate in an ever changing and growing system maintainable and fit for operation
    • Automate everything
    • We also encourage writing at our engineering blog, and speaking at conferences to participate ideas back to the community.

Who fits the role?

    • Experienced with Go, Rust or other modern language
    • Passionate about technology and who thrives on identifying and automating away toil
    • Honest team player. We have worked hard to build a great culture and we are looking for people that want to be part of that
    • An eye for quality
    • Experience with a micro-service architecture

What's nice to have?

    • Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, NewRelic, Sentry,, or similar
    • Experience writing in-cluster automation on top of Kubernetes
    • Experience working with state in a distributed environment: key-value stores, relational dbs, streams, persistent volumes
    • Keen to contribute to open source codebases
    • Experience of working in a fast paced start-up environment
