Job Description

We are looking for a DevOps (Development and Operations) engineer to join our growing organization. In this position, you will assist in managing infrastructure projects and processes. A keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and solid knowledge base are essential.  As a DevOps engineer, you'll also work collaboratively with our DevOps leads and software engineering to deploy and operate our infrastructure through cloud services that adhere to our corporate securities standards. Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.  Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.  Uptime and availability are paramount to delivering exceptional customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the DevOps team and Senior DevOps manager to maintain and monitor system integrity
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
  • Test implemented designs
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning
  • Handle code deployments in all environments
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improvement development delivery
  • Consult with peers for feedback during testing stages
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards
  • Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects
  • Manage and administer CI and CD tools
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes
  • Improve infrastructure development and application development
  • Follow all best practices and procedures as established by company
  • Knowledge and skills – required:
  • 5+ years of IT experience
  • Database and SQL optimization skills
  • PowerShell and Bash scripting experience
  • AWS services (EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, RDS) knowledge
  • Hands on experience of AWS services/features like EKS, ECR, s3, IAM, ELB, VPC, Cloud Formation, auto scaling, RDS, elastic cache etc.
  • Windows Server administration
  • Experience with RESTful APIs testing
  • Experience with JSON/SOAP/XML
  • Experience with UFT and loadrunner
  • Ability to communicate in technical and non-technical terms to all levels of staff
  • Ability to work independently against multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Able to take on additional tasks and responsibilities in order to accomplish team goals
  • Strong drive to improve, optimize, and identify opportunities for software quality

Knowledge and skills – nice to have:

  • Experience with VisualStudioOnline/VisualStudioTeamServices
  • AWS services (API GW, VPC, SQS, Lambda, CloudFront, Kinesis)
  • Azure services (Compute, Storage, Security)
  • Security (HTTPS, SSL, TLS, PCT, IPsec, etc…)
  • Groovy knowledge
  • Experience with SoapUI, Selenium, Appium, or other testing frameworks
