Department Overview

The position is within the System Integration Subscriber Europe team located in Berlin, Germany. The System Integration Europe organization delivers post-sale TETRA and ASTRO radio system and subscriber projects throughout Europe, through all project phases from pre-sale handover, design, factory staging and acceptance, field integration, customer acceptance, to service handover.Within this organization, the SI Subscribers team delivers major radio device projects.

Job Description

Engineering tasks within system integration projects in Europe, with a focus on public safety radio subscriber projects in Germany.

Key responsibilities of the System Engineer:

  • Propose, plan, review, implement, and/or verify technical solutions within customer projects
  • Support the project manager in estimating, planning and coordinating project activities
  • Work with the customer, product group, and external suppliers to ensure solutions meet customer and quality requirements
  • Manage design reviews and create and manage project-specific documentation
  • Create and review equipment lists for entry by order management
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers
  • Advise the project manager and team on relevant technical matters
  • Acquire detailed technical knowledge of new products and solution
  • Propose and support process and tool improvements

Basic Requirements

Key Qualifications and Skills of the System Engineer:

  • Experience in Radio Systems and/or Radio Device Engineering

  • Fluent in German and English, other European languages a plus

  • 5+ years professional experience, with at least 3 years experience in project environment in the telecommunications sector or a related field

  • Experience working with public safety customers at Federal or State level in Germany

  • Ability to grasp, implement, and present complex technical topics internally and to customers or suppliers

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within the project team

  • Flexible, self-motivated, self-organizing approach to project tasks

  • University or equivalent degree in electrical engineering or equivalent education or experience in electrical engineering

  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally (<10%)
