GPU Shader IO RTL Engineer

Position Summary

Samsung is a world leader in System LSI technologies, Memory and LCD. We are currently looking for exceptional software and hardware talent to join our Samsung Austin R & D Center (SARC) in Austin, TX and our Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) in San Jose, CA. SARC was established in Austin, TX in 2010 to be one of Samsung’s strategic investments in high performance low power GPU and System IP development for our mobile SOC’s. Presently our GPU design teams, located in Austin (SARC) and San Jose (ACL), are developing a GPU that will be deployed in Samsung mobile products. At SARC we also develop System IP solutions for our SOC fabric and the team located in Austin (SARC) is working on Coherent Interconnect and memory controller architectures.We are looking for a full time Engineer for the Shader IO RTL team in Austin, TX. As an RTL designer, you would be exposed to several aspects of design that includes micro-architecting your block, working with architects to get the best performance, writing RTL for the design and working with the Verification team to verify the design, optimize power, area & timing, documentation and much more.

Role and Responsibilities

Design skill required

  • Strong CPU/GPU Architecture & microarchitecture (course-work/projects/research)
  • Strong Logic Design background (course work/experience)
  • Fluent in Verilog/System Verilog
  • Knowledgeable in Low-power design techniques/Power optimization/Timing analysis
  • Experienced in scripting languages (Python/Perl/Tcl)
  • Good communication skills

Skills and Qualifications

The preferred candidate will be a recent college graduate, meaning graduated in the last 2 years from university. A decent GPA along with a desire to learn & contribute.
