About the team
The Rental Platform team develops and supports applications, data pipelines and infrastructure used by distributed Zillow Group teams working on helping the customers’ journey throughout the rental process.This team focuses on the infrastructure to take applications from idea to high-performance production. Build technology is constantly evolving and requires an equally fast-paced team to manage it. We partner closely with different teams including Machine learning, Infrastructure, and DevOps to build, test, and scale out applications. We accomplish this with a mix of home-grown technology and open source software like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Airflow, Kubeflow, and more. We are driven to help developers iterate quickly and to build valuable products for our customers.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to help build the future of Rentals infrastructure. You’ll be an integral part of the process and perform a diverse set of tasks. You will:
- Build developer tooling to support self-service, on-demand test environments and different styles of deployment like canaries, blue / green
- Automate and reduce the friction of training and evaluating performance of ML models
- Optimize how models are run and hosted in production
- Actively collaborate and share expertise with distributed teams across Rentals
- Provide support to developers using the team’s tools
- Help real people find their home!
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
Who you are
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Kubeflow, CI/CD
- Participated in the design/implementation of config driven, scalable, reliable services and workflows/pipelines using AWS or other cloud services
- Highly analytical, know the trade-offs between building a tool and selecting off the shelf technology
- Effective communicator able to help drive the infrastructure roadmap and keep customers updated
- Some understanding of data-science & machine-learning data use cases is a bonus
In additional to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.
